This takes true movement, actual action, Again and again and again.
Over and over and over again. The things we are reading, hearing and watching need to be constantly ingrained in our minds, our hearts, our souls. So much, that we become it.
You may feel crazy, you may not want to. You make want to quit, actually you will want to quit. But thats when you need to push through, that’s when you need to keep going. Again and again.
Where we find grace, love, power, true joy. It’s all in the doing. Over and over. That’s where growth happens, that’s where change happens.
It has been said it takes about 10,000 hours to master a skill. Time to start doing that thing that will make you greater, more powerful and more beautifully you, over and over. It’s in the doing. With still finding time to be a human being. Knowing the difference between doing and being. When to do, and when to just be. Knowing when to learn, knowing when to listen and knowing when to just be still. To just turn off.
For example, most things I don’t want to go to do. I don’t always want to wake up and practice yoga, go for a run. I don’t always want to post this blog, post on social media, or truly be seen. Sometimes, I don’t want to teach yoga, meditate or do the things that make me better. Some days, especially when I am feeling funky, insecure and weird, I want to hide, I want to run, I want to quit. But I know hiding, running and quitting is not practicing what I preach. It’s not who I am or who I want the world to see me as.
When I do that thing ESPECIALLY when I don’t want to, it opens me up that much more. I stretch just a little bit more, my heart gets that much wider, I allow more space to feel, to heal, to grow and to love. I feel more loved, connected. I feel more joy.
So, again and again. Do the thing that makes you feel alive, again and again. Take care of your body, your soul, your mind over and over. So much that you fill with so much love it just pours out to others. The world will have no other choice then to share more love and light. Show yourself, be seen and use your voice, your God given voice, over and over. Accept that you will get hurt, rejected, criticized over and over and get back up again and again.
Even when you are feeling defeated, keep going. Here are some tips to keep you away from the cliff.
Take time out to do nothing. Yes, I said nothing. Block out time for just you. Time where you are meditating, resting, a slow yoga class, a nice scenic walk. Do it alone, get clear so you are able to get back up and keep going.
Practice patience. Little bit by little bit. Doing things over and over requires a lot of patience, go easy on yourself and don’t rush the process.
Switch it up. If the old way isn’t working out, do something different. Go a new way home from work, experiment with a new food or ask a new friend to meet for coffee.
Read affirmations. We are who we say we are. Bring it to life and speak it into existence. “I am beautifully made and anything is possible, today I will keeping trying no matter what stands in my way.”
Get moving. Keep it moving. Of course we all need to rest, there is a time and a place. But don’t stay there too long. Get back up and try again. And again.
Being a successful adult is pretty much doing a bunch of things we may not want to do in that moment, but we know we should do. We know we NEED to do. Don’t forget that you are doing the best you can with what you have. Be easy on yourself and reward yourself with all your hard work. YOU are making a difference, day by day, again and again.
