If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you.
Keeping things moving is always a way to jump start your day. Even when, especially when, we don’t feel like it. Making time for a run, a yoga class or lifting some weights will bring so much more pep to your step. Movement stimulates us to not only feel better about ourselves but it encourages others to do the same.
Finding time to get a little cardio is a great way to start or end your day. Most great things happen in the morning (on a Miracle Morning kick recently) but as long as you are making time, whatever time that may be is all that matters. Whatever works best for you and your body is essential to living your best life.
It can be anything from working out at the gym, running outside, joining a yoga studio, playing a sport, chasing the kids around or simply taking a nice brisk walk. Finding time to take care your body is vital, it will thank you. In return, you will feel the best about yourself and truly live the life you have been waiting for.
Here are some places where you can not only find your best bod, but your best self:
The Gym: This is a great place to start if you just want to get in some quick cardio and enjoy working out with others. If you thrive off others energy, this place is where to go. Are you a lifter? A treadmill runner? A power machine? Do you enjoy weight training classes? Cycling or the fitness kind of yoga? The gym is your kind of place. Even if starting out, make it a priority to get there three or four days out the week.
Outdoor Running: Something I personally was never a huge fan of until the last year or two. If you love running for distance and enjoy all kinds of races, that is great! Those kind of runners inspire me. My kind of running is more of a jog and I truly enjoy being outside. I run to clear my head, to get my body moving and to spend time with God. Most days, I come back from a run, not only sweaty and empowered, but a bit of enlightened as well. Spiritual fitness is my favorite. The gym used to be my go to, but now, I am all about taking a nice jog to get some fresh air and some space to clear my mind. Running three or four days a week should get the job done, unless you are training for something crazy. Even if you are starting slow, power or brisk walking is a great start. You’ll be amazed what your body can do the more you do something a little more each week. I believe in you!
Yoga Studios: These places have my heart. Yoga is the best medicine for everything. Spiritually, emotionally, mentally, it does wonders. Physically though, it can get your body in the best shape. Most people think it’s just a bunch of slow stretching, and even though it is indeed that, it can get your body to where you want it to go. Or at least open it a little more than before. If you are just starting out, beginner classes are the way to go. There a tons of options at your local studio. If you are looking for more, hot power vinyasa flow is a favorite.
